Wow! This summer has been so lovely and full of trips to see all sorts of wonderful art exhibitions and places.
In May it started with the Oxford Art Week which takes place all across the county over three weeks in total.
I showed some of my sculture at the George Muller Studio with Bicester Sculpture Group. It is always a busy time cleaning up the studio where twenty of us share the space to work every week and then opening the doors to show our work in a clean 'Gallery Style' environment ! We work in a variety of materials so there is a very wide variety of Art to enjoy.
Then off to Florence ,galleria de Accademia ,Uffizi Galleria with Michelangelo ,Botticelli , Donatello ,Leonardo da Vinci etc !
ON FORM - ASTALL MANOR
A glorious sunny day for the fantastic stone sculpture exhibition 'On Form" held at Astall Manor, former home of the Mitford sisters. The exhibition seemed bigger and better than ever with some of the huge pieces set amongst the dream of a garden background ,continuing across the stream and into the meadow!
It also spills into the adjoining churchyard and the beautiful church itself .
Paul Vanstone
I think Paul Vanstone's work is what I would like on my wish list , followed by Mel Fraser's colourful 'Pianeta Aranione' in Moroccan forest selenite !
If you haven't been to this magical place yet, make a date for 2018.It's a slice of heaven !

Two weeks ago I went to the last ever ART in ACTION at Waterperry ,again it was a beautiful sunny day to hunt around the marquees in search of art, creative experience and craftsmanship that comes to show what and how they make their treasures .My first choice came from the woodturning marquee.
Nick Barberton was busy carving some amazing and beautiful large bowls and wooden sculptures .so tactile and his patterns seemed to move as the light hit the work.
